Desexing/sterilisation surgery is, for some pets, the most major procedure they will have. At Forrestdale Veterinary Hospital we operate using only sterilised instruments, drapes and gowns in our dedicated surgery.

Not only does desexing your pet prevent unwanted breeding, and therefore decrease the number of unwanted pets, it also has important health and behaviour benefits. Please contact us if you would like to have any questions about sterilisation or would any further information.

Microchipping
Microchipping your pet means that even if they lose their collar they are permanently identified and animal shelters, rangers and vets can easily prove ownership. Microchipping involves inserting a chip under the skin of your pet; it is inserted like a vaccination and is a quick, safe procedure. Each microchip has a number which is stored in a national database along with the pet and your details.

It is compulsory for all dogs and cats in WA to be microchipped.
